ALBANY, Ga. -- Health care is constantly evolving and opening new avenues of communications. Making use of every available means of communicating with patients and those interested in health care, Phoebe Putney Health System has launched The Phoebe Blog Spot on its website.
While Facebook and Twitter sites are limited in the number of words or characters used, the blog provides space for more in-depth articles from Phoebe physicians, nurses, administrators and patients. It serves as a platform for medical professionals and executives to talk about health care issues, share general health information, announce hospital news, answer questions or simply engage in conversation.
"We want to have an interactive discussion on health care topics with patients and our community,” says Rick Smith, corporate director of marketing and public relations for Phoebe Putney Health System. "Providing useful information which meets patient needs is just one more way we can help people manage their health."
Some of the titles that are already available on the blog include “The Importance of Colonoscopies,” by Steven Yang, MD; “Could it be Alzheimer’s?” by Kurt Klauburg, DO; and “Life Lessons From a (Formerly Busy) Mom,” by Tracy Morgan, vice president of Women’s and Children’s Services.
