Cuthbert believes that building a strong community starts with health families. On Saturday, July 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Cuthbert families will be gathering a Randolph County Elementary School to share in free health screenings for the whole family.
A consortium of medical, educational, governmental and non-profit organizations sponsors the second annual fair. Southwest Georgia Regional Medical Center and Phoebe Putney Health Systems provide blood pressure, BMI (body mass index), diabetes and cholesterol screenings. Participants are required to fast from midnight until the screening. A continental breakfast, lunch, and t-shirts are offered free to participants.
Educational displays and workshops will be held throughout the morning and door prizes will be awarded at the end of the program. Hannah Orlowski, director of the Diabetes Care Center at Phoebe, is the special guest speaker.
