Role of the Professional Nurse
Each practicing professional registered nurse is accountable for the care he/she renders to the patient. Professional nurses participate in the decision making function through membership on unit and organizational councils, committees, and task forces.
Our Registered Nurses:

Participate in the quality improvement process, analysis and interpretation data for effective care planning.

Are responsible and accountable for individual nursing practice and determines the appropriate delegation of task consistent with the nurses’ obligation to provide optimum patient care.

Coordinate and integrate all nursing care services related to the identified needs of the patient.

Collaborate with other health professionals in planning and delivering care appropriate to meeting the health care needs of the patient.

Practice autonomously using independent judgment within the context of a multidisciplinary approach to patient/family centered care consistent with professional and national standards.

Incorporate teaching in all aspects of practice through organization and community involvement.

Maintain competency and continues personal and professional growth.
