Willson Hospice House

Patients who need inpatient hospice care now have a home of their own – the Willson Hospice House. Built in the woodlands in Northwest Albany, Willson Hospice House provides patients a safe and comfortable place for end-of-life care. Willson Hospice House is now accepting patients.

The innovative design of this 39,000-square-foot facility welcomes the outdoors in, providing a calm and peaceful setting for patients and family members. The building is inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and features large expanses of glass with views open to the landscape and outlying gardens to give patients a tranquil and quiet environment.

The Willson Hospice House also has designated special areas for patients and families to be together, much as they would at their own home, including a kitchen where they cook and eat together, a sunroom, a quiet room, a playroom for children, a family laundry area and two non-denominational chapels.

Outdoor gardens, trellised terraces and walking trails located throughout the campus provide family members with a variety of natural respite settings. Patient rooms have ample natural light and terraces to the outside. Patient rooms include a window-seat bed – for family members visiting 24/7 – and double doors that allow patient beds to be easily moved directly outside to tranquility gardens.
