What to Know About Treatment for Recurring Hodgkin Disease

If Hodgkin disease comes back after treatment, the cancer may still be cured in many cases. Treatment options will depend on what you had previously, but they may include radiation therapy or chemotherapy using different drugs. Radiation cannot be used in the same area as before. Your doctor may suggest high-dose chemotherapy, along with a stem cell transplant to improve your long-term prognosis. This is an intense and difficult treatment, but it can often be very effective. So ask your doctor about all the potential benefits and risks.
